Definition of Spam

Spam is any email you send to someone who hasn't give you their direct permission to contact them on the topic of the email.



What emails are OK to send email with NewsMAN ?

All lists imported into NewsMAN must be permission based subscriptions. This means that users WANT to receive your email.
Permission based subscriptions can be done through:

  • A newsletter form on your website.
  • An opt in check box in a registration form on your website.
  • Any customer who purchased something from you in the last 2 years.
  • Offline registration forms, if the users checks the box that they want to be contacted by email.

For newsletter and registration forms a double opt in (confirmed opt in) system is required before adding somebody to the list. This process implies the user gets an unique link by email, they have to click in order to confirm their email address.



What emails are NOT OK to send email with NewsMAN ?

To be short, anything which you don't have prior permission is NOT OK to send email with NewsMAN.
This includes (some examples):

  • Third party lists.
  • Email lists for which there is no provable permission.
  • Scrapped or copy paste email addresses from the internet.
  • Chamber of commerce lists.
  • Customers who purchased from you and have not been contacted in the last 2 years.



What should every email sent with NewsMAN include ?

All emails sent with NewsMAN must include:

  • Real (existing) From: email address (somebody must be able to read user replies).
  • Unique unsubscribe link (instant unsubscribe - one click).
  • Real contact details, postal address.



What is NewsMAN doing to detect abuse ?

Every customer needs human aproval before being able to send any email with our system.
We're registered with all major ISPs and monitor all spam complaints. If the spam complain rate for a particular client goes over 0.25%, the account is terminated and no further emails will be allowed.
We also monitor all major black lists for any suspicious activities, our customers may do.

Since our policy is very strict to "isolate" each client from each other, any actions taken by one client will NOT affect at all other clients.
